Abstract

The socialization process of Community-Based Total Sanitation (STBM) with the Gender, Disability, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) approach in Nelelamadike Village involved several important stages. The activity began with an opening by the Village Head, followed by a presentation of material by the facilitator team emphasizing the importance of GEDSI in the context of STBM. Mapping was carried out interactively, revealing the challenges of toilet access for vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled. A house audit was carried out by a team that focused on the condition of the toilet and its accessibility, resulting in recommendations for a more inclusive design. The audit results were presented, followed by the signing of a social contract by residents demonstrating a commitment to change. The activity closed with an emphasis on the importance of healthy living behavior. The social contract includes a commitment to provide a place to wash hands, regulate waste disposal, and build a decent toilet. Local wisdom was also identified, such as how young women dispose of garbage and solutions for the elderly in using toilets. This activity is expected to increase community awareness and participation in creating a healthier and more inclusive environment.
