STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP: ENHANCING TEACHER PERFORMANCE THROUGH PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP AND EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION

Improving the quality of education significantly depends on the competence and performance of teachers as the primary agents in the learning process. In this context, principal leadership and effective communication play a strategic role in fostering a work environment that supports teacher professionalism. This study aims to analyze the influence of principal leadership and effective communication on teacher performance. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative data from questionnaires completed by 30 teachers and qualitative data from interviews with three teachers. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that principal leadership and effective communication simultaneously have a significant impact on teacher performance, with a significance value of 0.000 and a coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.524. These findings are corroborated by interview results, where teachers emphasized that supportive leadership and open communication enhance motivation and performance. Therefore, a strategic leadership approach that integrates vision, collaboration, and interpersonal communication is proven effective in improving teacher performance within the school context. This study offers important implications for strengthening school principals' leadership capacity in efforts to enhance overall educational quality.
